1 day Food Safety & Hygiene course - NZQA Unit 20666.

Restaurant Association offers a comprehensive one-day in-person Basic Food Safety Certification course open to both members and non-members. This course, accredited by NZQA for NZ residents with 2 credits at level 2 (non citizens must supply us with a copy of their work visa to obtain these credits). The training equips participants with the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary to maintain a safe and hygienic food business environment.

Course Objectives:

Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of food contamination hazards in a food business.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of control methods to prevent contamination of food in a food business.

Certification and Benefits:

Upon successful completion of the Basic Food Safety Certification course,  NZ residents will achieve NZQA unit 20666, non residents will receive a certificate of attendance.

This certification is required by most councils and is recommended as part of  your Food Safety Plan.

Who should attend:

Food safety certification is recommended as part a food safety plan for all hospitality industry professionals, including chefs, kitchen staff, servers and managers. We recommend everyone directly involved in handling, preparing, and serving food attend to gain a basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene.

Course Details:

The course starts at 10 am sharp so please try to arrive 10 mins early. We will cover theory in the morning session and the assessment will take place after a break for lunch. We have allowed until 3pm in the schedule, however this is just a guideline some attendees may finish sooner and others could take a bit longer.
