The Government have announced that areas in the northern part of Northland will move to Alert Level 3 from 11:59pm, Tuesday, 2 November 2021.
Two positive Covid-19 cases have been announced in Northland which at this stage have not been epidemiologically linked to any other cases in the region. As a result, the Government has said that there is a strong possibility of undetected community transmission in Northland.
- The northern part of Northland will move to Alert Level 3 from 11.59pm tonight until at least 11.59pm on Monday 8 November.
- This will be reviewed on Monday 8 November.
- A boundary will be put in place
- which will run through the centre of the Hokianga Harbour,
- to the Mangamuka Junction on SH1,
- to the Kaeo River Bridge on SH10 and East Bay.
- Areas within the boundary will be at Alert Level 3.
- The rest of Northland will remain at Alert Level 2
