– Auckland & Waitomo States of Emergency –

We are reaching out to all members to update you on the major impacts over the past 48 hours and the states of emergency that have been put in place for the Auckland Region and Waitomo District. We hope that you and your team members are OK. We know from our contact with many of you that many members, particularly across Auckland, Bay of Plenty, Coromandel and Waitomo, have been affected by the ongoing weather disruptions.

We have met with local and central Government today, including Ministers Nash and Robertson and Mayor Brown (and other key central and local government officials), and have updated them on some of the most pressing issues for our business and how they can support the recovery efforts. This discussion has included what support businesses may be able to access, including financial support through the Mayoral Assistance Fund. We will be providing our feedback on the best way to administer the Mayoral Assistance Fund and we will keep you across this as we receive more information on how to access this fund.

SHARE YOUR FEEDBACK! We are providing Government with additional feedback on how businesses have been affected and what support we need. Please take a moment to share your feedback today through this quick online survey: www.surveymonkey.com/r/EmergencyJan2023

We want to remind you to stay in touch if you need help or support. If you or your business is affected by the situation and you have business or employment-related queries, the Association has a number of resources available to assist including the below emergency response information guide.
