Nominations for the inaugural Waikato Hospitality Awards are open
Waikato’s hospitality industry is to be celebrated with the inaugural Waikato Hospitality Awards this August. Highlighting the very best the region is serving up is the goal of those behind the awards; the Restaurant Association of NZ, Waikato Food Inc and Lexis ComplyHub.
Restaurant Association CEO Marisa Bidois says, “It’s imperative the hospitality industry recognises its champions as it provides not only a peer benchmark for excellence but also serves to give people valuable guidelines on the best places to visit”.
Vicki Ravlich-Horan from Waikato Food Inc says “having an annual event which celebrates and highlights the great work of so many of our hospitality industry has long been a goal of Waikato Food Incs so we are excited to partner with the Restaurant Association to make this happen.”
Fifteen award categories, the best of Waikato’s hospitality industry – from crew members, to suppliers, to establishments – will be celebrated for their contribution in creating a world-class hospitality industry in the region. Add to this Waikato Food Inc’s Matariki Dish Challenge and Melt Challenge winners which will be announced on the night.
Nominations are now open to the industry until Sunday, 14 July. Final voting will begin on Tuesday, 16 July and winners will be revealed at the highly anticipated awards evening on Monday, 12 August at The Atrium, Wintec.
The Waikato general public are also able to vote for their favourite establishment in the People’s Choice Award category.
