The Ministry of Health has confirmed that customer-facing hospitality staff can priority book vaccinations.
The Ministry is encouraging all essential workers (which includes customer-facing hospitality workers in this context) to book their vaccinations online at BookMyVaccine.nz, where they should be able to secure a suitable time quite quickly. There are a wide range of places around New Zealand where people can be vaccinated.
If, for some reason hospitality essential workers cannot find a suitable appointment within the next two weeks, the Ministry of Health suggest they call the COVID Vaccination Healthline on 0800 28 29 26, identify themselves as an essential worker in a customer-facing hospitality role and someone will assist them to arrange a suitable time. They will not be required to provide a code or any further information. All calls are free and the team is available from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.
If you have any further questions about priority vaccinations for essential workers, please email covid-19essentialworkersvaccination@health.govt.nz.
