A reminder that it is now a requirement to have your QR code poster on display in your business and infringements may be issued to businesses who fail to comply with this requirement from 19 August.
If you don’t yet have a QR code poster, you can get one for your business at: https://qrform.tracing.covid19.govt.nz/. (Note, we have heard that occasionally the poster email ends up in the spam folder, so remember to check there if you have not received).
If we display our QR code, does that mean that we don’t have to maintain a contact register as well? No. While customers should be encouraged to scan your QR code when entering the premises, there will be some customers who don’t, or can’t, scan your QR code (for example, some customers may not have their phones on them, have the app downloaded, or even have a smartphone). Whenever a customer does not scan your QR code you must add them to a contact register. This could be an electronic register, or a hard copy register.
