Accreditation application – faq’s

We’ve answered some of the commonly asked questions about the HospoCred accreditation programme here. You can also contact us on 0800 737 827 for more information or queries.

The hospitality industry accreditation programme, HospoCred, created by the Restaurant Association, has a driving purpose to create a platform for standards within the hospitality industry.

Businesses that achieve HospoCred-itation have displayed a commitment to best practice, increasing their impact and ultimately committed to ongoing development of themselves, their business and their team.

HospoCred accreditation creates a clearer picture for Government, for other businesses, for employees and consumers about what it means to be a good employer.

Yes, to maintain accreditation you will need to renew your accreditation every 24 months.

We’ll get in touch at renewal time to arrange a time to meet with you and discuss what we need you to provide as part of the renewal process.

You can work your way through the sections of the HospoCred application over a period of time.

You have 6 months to complete the application from the time that you start the application process. If you need more time, contact the HospoCred business advisors to discuss.

If your initial application is not successful and you are completing our recommendations, the business will have up to 6 months to make improvements and resubmit.

We may do checks during the accreditation period to ensure you still meet the accreditation requirements.

This could include requesting information, arranging to meet with you face to face or online, or doing a site visit.

If we become aware at any point during the accreditation period that you do not meet the requirements, or that any questions in the application form have not been answered honestly, your accreditation could be revoked.

If any of the details you provided in your application change you must tell us within 10 business days (this includes if the business is prosecuted, or under investigation, for breaches of any employer obligations).

If you are under investigation or being prosecuted for breaching any employer requirements, your accreditation can be suspended.

If you go through a restructure or merger, your accreditation cannot be transferred to a new legal entity. Any new entity will need to apply in their own right.

When you apply to renew accreditation, this is not an automatic renewal and you will be required to provide information which will be assessed as part of the accreditation renewal.

The cost to apply for HospoCred accreditation is free for Restaurant Association members and other businesses can apply by paying a non-refundable application fee of $650+gst.

Applying for HospoCred does not guarantee the business will achieve this accreditation standard. If you are successful in achieving HospoCred accreditation you can renew your accreditation every 24 months. HospoCred renewal is $200+gst.

You can complete your payment for the HospoCred application here.
