The finalists for the tenth Hawke’s Bay Hospitality Awards have been announced, with familiar faces and consistently good establishments vying for the top spots.
Presented by the Restaurant Association of NZ (RA), nominations were received from the industry for the 13 categories, recognising those who work hard to achieve excellence in hospitality.
For ten years now the Hawke’s Bay Hospitality awards have celebrated and acknowledged the region’s hospitality stars via an industry-only voting system. Marisa Bidois, chief executive of the Restaurant Association said “To be selected by your peers as a leader in your category is a great honour”.
Clearview Estate Winery is a decade long supporter of the annual Hawke’s Bay Hospitality awards. Co-owner Helma van den Berg said “being named as a finalist or winner is highly anticipated by staff and owners alike and the awards highlight the outstanding and diverse growth of the local hospitality scene, with every possible creative option for food and beverage on offer.”
The next round of voting is to find the winners in each category. Running alongside the finals voting, this year for the first time, the Restaurant Association will introduce a People’s Choice Award where the public can nominate their favourite establishment. This could be a bar, a cafe, a restaurant or cellar door, a place that the Hawke’s Bay community deems is the best because of the fabulous atmosphere, food, beverages or service. Online voting for this category will be available via event partner the Hawke’s Bay Today’s website.
