Teresa Bar picks up six awards including supreme establishment of the year

The hospitality community got together to celebrate the individuals and businesses at the top of their game with the announcement of the winners of the 2022 Hawke’s Bay Hospitality Awards.

Presented by the Restaurant Association of New Zealand with the support of lead sponsor American Express, the awards acknowledge the outstanding hospitality professionals and businesses, who are making a positive impact on the local café, dining and drinking scene.

Piku Restaurant & Cocktail Bar takes out people’s choice and Jeremy Rameka, Pacifica wins supreme award

Napier cocktail Bar ‘Teresa Bar’ picked up a grand total of six awards for outstanding ambience and design, as well as the ultimate accolade of supreme establishment of the year.
The deli-come-bar is new to the Napier scene and is the brainchild of Sarah Mitchell and Andrea Marseglia.
By day, it operates as Harvest Deli serving up cured meats, cheeses, sandwiches and baked goods but by night the back half transforms into Teresa, a cocktail bar offering novel beverages.

Harvest Deli also picks up awards for outstanding chef and barista in Rosie Crawley and Conor Mertens.

Hawkes Bay locals have also had their say selecting Piku Restaurant and Cocktail Bar as their favourite establishment.

Pacifica owner and industry icon Jeremy Rameka took out the supreme award for his career longevity and support for emerging talent.

Those looking for a great meal with outstanding service won’t be disappointed with Central Fire Station who took out the award for outstanding restaurant and front of house team.

“The Hawkes Bay has some of the nation’s best restaurants, an abundance of fresh produce and world-class wineries, making it a mecca for diners. Innovation has been a hot topic for hospitality businesses over the past two years so its great to see establishments like Teresa and Harvest Deli getting recognition for this unique hybrid hospitality concept. The Restaurant Association is dedicated to supporting the hospitality industry, providing support to business owners and the future leaders of our industry. The awards give us an opportunity to promote the local hospitality community, bringing people together to recognise our achievements in what continue to be challenging times. It is more important than ever to connect and celebrate one another’s success.”

Restaurant Association CEO Marisa Bidois
