Updates to My Vaccine Pass (MVP)

posted on

The Government has made changes to the My Vaccine Pass.

A copy of the announcement is available here.

The updated My Vaccine Pass is available from 24 May 2022 for anyone aged 12 and over who is up-to-date with their COVID-19 vaccinations, as well as for those with a temporary medical exemption.

The new My Vaccine Pass will look different from the original, but it will still have a QR code like the original version.

Most businesses can choose if they want to use My Vaccine Pass as an entry requirement (or other evidence of vaccination/exemption), but they are not required to do so and we know that the majority of hospitality businesses have for the time being discontinued their use.

The updated My Vaccine Pass can be verified in the same way as the original and the old version is still valid until it expires. It is up to businesses to decide whether, and how frequently, they wish to verify a customer’s My Vaccine Pass.

People can download a new My Vaccine Pass through My Covid Record.

More information on generating a My Vaccine Pass can be found on the Unite against COVID-19 website.
