Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) to move to Alert Level 3 Tonight

posted on

We welcome the confirmation today that Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) will move to Alert Level 3, for at least 2 weeks, at 11:59 pm today.

The Alert Level 2 maximum number of people has also changed  – now allowing 100 people per separate defined area.

The rest of New Zealand will stay at Alert Level 2 until Auckland is able to move down levels.

It’s a relief to see Auckland heading in the right direction with this move and while we know not all businesses can viably open at Level 3, many will be preparing to go back into their businesses again and reconnect with customers, and with their teams face to face.

We believe that hospitality-specific financial relief is now long overdue and we continue to lobby the government for targeted support. This week the Restaurant Association’s CEO Marisa Bidois is presenting to the Economic Development, Science and Innovation Committee | Komiti Whanaketanga Ōhanga, Pūtaiao, Atamaitanga Hoki on some of our proposals.
