Position Title: Full Time Cafe Staff Member

Responsible to: Owner & Cafe Manager

Date: November 2018


The purpose of this Front of House role is to offer great customer service at The Vines Village Cafe.

Principle Accountabilities:

Accountability Main Duties

Customer Service

• Provides an exemplary customer experience
• Ensures correct operation of the cashier as required by the operations manual
• Processes all modes of payment for purchases in a timely manner
• Provides excellent customer service at all times
• Assists customers in the shop requiring help as required
• Assisting in stock takes as required
• Collecting any customer complaints and forwarding to the manager
• Ensures tables and work areas are clean and tidy at all times
• Participate in a fun working environment

Coffee Production

• Ensures fast, friendly and efficient customer service of the coffee range.
• Care & attention to quality control of hot beverage service
• Ensure high standards of supply and service are maintained
• Innovative beverage delivery in a fast and friendly manner
• Identify any shortfalls in the supply chain and remedy quickly

Food Prep & Handling

• Ensures correct compliance to food safety rules and regulations at all times
• Keeps the customer seated areas clean at all times


Customer Service

• Treats customers fairly and with consideration
• Has loads of energy and generates a fun environment
• Consistently presents themselves to customers in a professional and positive way – includes appearance and manner
• Puts the customer first and works hard to meet customer needs
• Gives accurate and helpful advice when customers or colleagues ask about products and systems
• Keeps commitments made to others, or re-negotiates well before deadlines


• Is strongly committed to openness, honesty, and inclusiveness
• Delivers what was promised or committed
• Holds socially moral values and beliefs which govern their decisions and actions
• Communicates and operates within the truth at all times
• Respects and adheres to required policies and procedures

Attention to Detail

• Knows where to find relevant information
• Takes care to collect accurate and thorough information



• Owners, Manager, Kitchen staff, other tenants of the Vines Village


• Customers, Suppliers, Vines Village Employees

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

• Duty Manager Certificate Required and ideally LQC training
• Loads of energy and initiative, proactive
• An interest and/or experience with wine, coffee, food & food handling
• Enjoys dealing with people from all walks of life
• Great initiative and a team player
• Great customer service skills
• Well presented & mannered
• Hospitality and/or event experience is required
• Flexible Hours available
