| A high profile waterfront Restaurant and café situated in Port Taranaki seeks a Full-Time Head Chef to manage the kitchen and supervise around 10 kitchen staff. |
| This restaurant seats up to 100 people inside and a further 25 outside, it is open 7 days a week and is popular for functions, weddings, and al a carte dining.
The successful applicant must be passionate about their job and committed to the restaurant, have the ability to work competently, flexibly and under pressure with the following attributes
Essential:
National Certificate In cookery or equivalent
Responsible for Health and safety in the kitchen
Responsible for kitchen food preparation areas and hygiene
Team leader as well as team player
Manage staff / rostering / meetings / training
Skills in devising, budgeting and costing of menus
Efficient ordering of food and non food items
Efficient and effective staff rostering/ labor costs
Wine and Food Matching
Organization skills
Good communication skills, customer skills and leadership skills
Preferable:
Previous experience as Head Chef
Attended NZQA Food Safety Hygiene or Food Safety Programme course within the last 3 years
Computer Skills
Good remuneration and prospects for the right applicant
