Restaurant Association of New Zealand

Good Neighbour Award

The Restaurant Association Good Neighbour Award honours those 'paying it forward' in their communities; those who are actively involved in projects or activities that are making a real difference to their neighbourhood. Each year, one hospitality business will be awarded the Restaurant Association Good Neighbour Award and will receive $2,000 to support a charity or community project they are involved in.

Hospitality businesses demonstrate an unwavering commitment to their communities in good times and bad. Perhaps no other industry has deeper community roots. People turn to our businesses each day for sustenance, support and socialization - and restaurants and cafes, and other hospitality businesses, give back to their communities, improving the quality of life for those they serve.

This award promotes hospitality business' roles as cornerstones of their communities, and it highlights their efforts. We want to celebrate the great things our members are doing!

The winner of the inaugural Good Neighbour Award in 2014 was Barbara Olsen-Henderson from Bach on Breakwater and in 2015 Michael Meredith, from Merediths Restaurant.
